LONGUE LONGUE CONTREVERSIAL DECLARATION

Cameroonian artist Longue Longue, known for his tumultuous journey marked by exile and resilience, today finds himself at the heart of a lively controversy. After being tortured in Cameroon, the singer took refuge in the West, where he is based but is now the subject of virulent criticism following a statement widely relayed on social networks.

In a video which has been circulating widely for several hours, Longue Longue declared: “A Bamiléké is worth 10 Nkouah”, a sentence perceived as deeply tribalist and which immediately aroused indignation within Cameroonian public opinion. .this statement, considered divisive and discriminatory, was strongly condemned by many citizens and observers.

Longue Longue's statement comes in a context where tribalist discourses are increasingly denounced as threats to national unity. By qualifying one community as superior to another, the artist rekindled latent tensions and caused a shock wave among his fans and beyond.

.following this controversial statement, many Cameroonians expressed their disapproval on social networks, calling for a total disengagement from the artist's cause. Those who until then supported Longue Longue, particularly for his fight against the injustices of which he claims to be a victim, now seem to be distancing themselves.

.some former supporters recall that the artist was able to mobilize public opinion around his personal history, marked by torture and exile. .However, according to them, these new remarks tarnish this image of a fighter for freedom and human rights, by conveying a discourse which is opposed to the values of unity and equality..
