HERE IS THE FIFA RULE:
A victory for Cameroon against Burundi on September 12 directly gives Cameroon qualification. In the event of defeat, Cameroon will obviously not compete in the competition. .these are the two ends of the situation.
IN CASE OF TIE: the 3 teams in the group will have 5 points each and FIFA rules must be applied to select the two best teams.
WHAT DOES THE RULE SAY? .FIFA Article 14 states that if teams are tied on points, the first criterion to separate them is the number of points in head-to-head matches. .in the event of a tie between Cameroon and Burundi, it will be impossible to decide between the teams in the group with rule 1 since all must have scored 5 points each against the other. This cannot therefore be applied in the event of an equal number of points.
.WE MOVE TO RULE 2: It says “goal difference in head-to-head matches between tied teams”. Currently, the 3 teams have a goal difference of 0 (Namibia scored 6 and conceded 6; Cameroon scored 3 conceded 3 and Burundi scored 4 and conceded 4..rule 3 (number of goals scored) will then be applied. At this level, if Cameroon draw with Burundi 0-0, Namibia (6 goals) and Burundi (4 goals) will qualify as they are the two teams with the most goals.
.in the event of a draw 4-4 or more, Cameroon and Burundi will qualify at the expense of Namibia. In short, this means that only a win or a draw by scoring 4 or more goals (e.g. 4-4, 5-5, 6-6 etc.) will guarantee Cameroon's qualification.
