ALEX
TCHEUKAM
A new talent on the Cameroonian artistic scene. Born on 18 December 1990 in Yaoundé, Ange TCHEUKAM, registered under the name TCHEUKAM KAMDEM AKA, is a Cameroonian singer. An avid music fan, he comes from a family that includes singer Ange Bagnia (his older sister) and folk singer Rémé Star (his aunt), to name but a few.
It was in this musical environment that Ange grew up, gradually familiarising himself with this world and learning his trade alongside artists such as Majoie Ayi, Vivi Lolo, TorNkass, La Chicotte and many others before going solo himself.
Strongly influenced by Bikutsi, Zouk and Makossa, Ange defines his music as a fusion of several Cameroonian rhythms and sounds. She is capable of getting audiences up and dancing, but also inviting them to reflect on social issues. His lyrics are sung in French and accompanied by local Cameroonian languages, notably Ewondo, a dialect specific to the Centre, South and East regions, and Bafang, the language spoken in his home department of Haut-NKAM.
Today, he works for Global Business SARL, a label to which he invited the Bikutsi icon K-Tino, of whom he is a fan, to contribute his very first single. "Essaye Encore un Peu", a collaboration between 2 artists with a catchy rhythm, lasts 04 minutes.
Bafang de Luxe", as he calls himself, is also President of a Franco-Cameroonian humanitarian organisation: Association pour les victimes du monde. With the different languages he promotes in his songs, he is a fine example of integration and living together.
